Book me for an event

In the last decade, I've run fun writing workshops, school assemblies and classroom events, as well as appeared on and chaired panels at The London Book Fair, YALC and via webinars. Here's an overview of what I can do - but do get in touch if you have something else in mind, or see my profile on Author's Abroad for School Events.

Schools

  • Assemblies and classroom workshops for Key Stage 2-4:

    • Key stage 2-3

      • The Hunt for the Nightingale: We'll learn about the different kinds of birds living around us and how to spot them. We'll also flex our creative writing muscles together and learn about how to make our own stories even better.

      • The Night Animals: We'll use our listening skills to uncover the story behind the blurb of this book. In an assembly, we'll start thinking about what our own Night Animals might be and how they could help us with any worries we have. In classrooms, we'll bring our Night Animals to life and write them into our own stories.

    • Key stage 3-4

      • The World Between Us: Using empathy and our creative writing skills, we'll step into the shoes of other people and write from their point of view. We'll also look at what life is like when you're an author and the process of getting a book published.
